Extase+Me Melkweg Show

Extase+Me Melkweg Show

Description

In June 2025, I directed a hybrid electronic show at the Melkweg in Amsterdam, combining 10 live string and brass players with dynamic, audio-reactive visuals. The project was the result of three months of developing and fine-tuning the performance. As art and music director, I oversaw the creative concept and designed the live visuals, bringing together sound and imagery in a fully immersive experience.

Process

[Notes]

This project began with a substantial concepting phase, assessing possibilities and defining the right scope for the show. Early on, we settled on the idea of dynamic, audio-driven visuals and ultimately developed a lightweight TouchDesigner setup. This approach offered enough flexibility to build something truly special while keeping costs under control.

Working within the constraints of the venue presented another challenge, as the large number of musicians on stage was pushing its capacity to the limit. In the end, we once again had to get creative to find a solution that was feasible without compromising the artistic vision of the show.
